The Seattle Sounders scored a late goal to tie the Seattle Sounders Select 1-1 in a preseason game played before 1,437 at Interlake High School in Bellevue, WA.  The Select were closing in on victory in the 89th minute when Select defender Jimmy Fioretti fouled Sounders forward Rashid Utush in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick.  Sounders midfielder Dick McCormick stepped up and converted the PK, tying the score at 1-1. The Select took the lead when forward David Ludwin scored on a rebound shot in the 55th minute.  That goal marked the first time the Sounders trailed in the preseason. Select goalkeeper Jonas Tanzer was the standout player in the game, making 16 saves, many at point-blank range.
