Match report based on the Sounders Select report:

The Seattle Sounders Select scored three goals within a seven minute span in the second half to defeat the Abbotsford 86ers 4-1 at Seattle Memorial Stadium.

Seattle fell behind early when Abbotsford's Oliver Heald, recently signed by the Vancouver 86ers and recovering from an injury, scored in the 20th minute. The Sounders Select quickly answered when Chris Farnsworth tied the game on a penalty kick in the 23rd  minute.

The Select took the lead for good in the 68th minute when forward Ian Chursky scored. That match-winning goal (Chursky's second in two matches) came on a shot that was deflected by Abbotsford goalkeeper Paul Shepherd into the lower left corner. Select forward Joe Watson quickly followed with a goal in the 70th minute off a long pass from Chursky. Watson scored again in the 75th, taking a pass from substitute Bryn Ritchie.

Select goalkeeper Jonas Tanzer made six saves to earn the victory.

Post Game Quotes - Sounders Select Coach Gerry Gray:
I thought the game was pretty even in the first half. I thought that after we took the lead on Chursky goal, we took control of the game from there. We forced the 86ers to change their formation and when Watson scored to make it 3-1, we had things wrapped up.

86ers Coach Alan Errington:
I have a theory that if you have more than one player on your team not show up, it's hard to win. You need a full team effort. Today, we had about four guys not show up on the field. It affected us in the second half. The Select were able to get a couple of good goals and pull away.
