Match report per the Sounders:

The Seattle Sounders gave up the match-winning goal in the 90th minute and went on to lose 3-1 to the El Paso Patriots. Patriots forward Mugurel Dumitru gave El Paso a 2-1 lead when he scored the second of his two goals in the 90th minute. The loss ends an eight match unbeaten streak by the Sounders, dating back to May 11, and they have now lost their last three matches in El Paso.

Dumitru's first goal tied the match at 1-1 when he scored in the 78th minute off a pass from midfielder Carlos Farias. Seattle had taken an early 1-0 lead when forward Viet Nguyen scored his first league goal of the season, unassisted in the 11th minute after a defensive mistake by a Patriots defender.

El Paso outshot Seattle 17 to 8 with Sounders goalkeeper Preston Burpo making 8 saves on the evening.

Post Match Quotes: Sounders Head Coach Bernie James:
"This was a disappointing loss considering we had played so well recently. Soccer is a 90 minute game. We have to put this game behind us and get ready for San Diego tomorrow."
