Match report per the Sounders:

The Seattle Sounders lost their second road match in two nights 1-0 to the San Diego Flash FC. Flash midfielder Hugo Alcaraz scored the lone goal in the 39th minute.

Alcaraz scored on a low-line shot that just beat the diving Sounders goalkeeper Preston Burpo from ten yards out. He was set up on the play with a rebound from a shot by former Sounder Chugger Adair that was saved by Preston Burpo. San Diego goalkeeper Matt Hall made six saves to record the shutout.

Seattle outshot San Diego 12 to 10 for the match. Burpo made two saves on the evening. Seattle had several different players in the starting lineup. Forward Craig Tomlinson and midfielder Jeremy Sweet made their first A-League starts of the season.
