The Seattle Sounders Select defeated the Cascade Surge 4-2 in a PDL match played Sunday afternoon in Salem, OR. Select forward Greg Foisie had a goal and an assist to lead the charge. Midfielder Chris Farnsworth scored the match-winning goal for Seattle in the 58th minute. Seattle have won seven straight PDL matches.

It was the Surge who struck first, in the 18th minute, when Peter Gilgunn scored. Jesse Pohle passed to Gilgunn who shot the ball past the Seattle Sounders Select goalkeeper Carlos Castellanos.

Seattle came back to tie the game in the 33rd minute when Evan McNeley received a pass from Greg Foisie and beat the Cascade goalkeeper Oliver Sanders.

Foisie then put the Sounders Select in the lead when he scored in the 39th minute after receiving a pass from Sy Reeves.

The Select started to take control of the match in the second half and Seattle's third goal came when Chris Farnsworth put the ball past the Cascade keeper in the 58th minute. McNeely assisted on the play.

Cascade made a late charge to get back into the game when Stan Marcello had an unassisted goal in the 90th minute of play.

Currently the Sounders Select men are in second place in the Northwest Division and are close to clinching a playoff birth. Seattle swept the season series against Cascade, 4-0.
