Match report based on Sounders Select report:

The Seattle Sounders Select defeated the Yakima Reds 2-0 at Marquette Stadium in Yakima, WA. Midfielder James Vert scored the match-winning goal in the 17th minute. The victory is the fourth in a row for the Select in PDL play and fifth overall.

Sounders forward Greg Foisie set Vert up for the first goal. Foisie gave a pass to Vert, which allowed him to go in one-on-one with the Yakima goalkeeper. Vert was able to move around the goalkeeper and score into the empty net. The Select Men scored their second goal on a questionable penalty kick call. A Yakima defender fouled a Seattle player in the penalty box, setting up the penalty kick attempt. Joe Watson calmly stepped up and converted his shot in the 23rd minute.

Seattle has won all three meetings over Yakima, with one match yet to be played.

Post-Match Quotes: Sounders Select Head Coach Teddy Mitalis:
"It's nice to be able to come into Yakima and get some points. We did not have our best game, but were able to come away with the victory. We will have to make some changes in our lineup for tomorrow's game, based on some injuries tonight."
