Midfielder Evan McNeley for the Seattle scored the match-winning goal in extra time as the Sounders Select defeated the Yakima Reds 3-2 at Marquette Stadium. Seattle were forced to play a man down starting from the 15th minute after Todd Stauber was sent off for receiving his second yellow card.

McNeley scored his goal in the 119th minute, after Yakima battled back to tie the score at 2-2. McNeley went through the Reds defense to score. Seattle took a 2-0 lead on goals by Joe Watson (11th minute) and Jake Sagare (49th minute). Yakima goals were both scored by Santa Maria Rivera in the 69th minute on a penalty kick and the 76 minute on a breakaway.

"Our guys really wanted this game," said Select Head Coach Teddy Mitalas. "Evan scored a great goal. This victory was especially sweet because we played a man down for so long."
