The ball landed at the feet of Armstrong who drilled in a hard shot from 20 yards out, past the Seattle goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen. Laurie Klein scored the Select Women's goal in the 48th minute. Klein was in the penalty area when she took her first shot. Her shot deflected off a Mustangs player back to Klein, who shot again and scored from 10 yards out, past the Mile High goalkeeper Whitney Peterson.

In regulation, the Select Women had plenty of scoring chances. Forward Katie Miyake had two excellent scoring chances in the 70th and 72nd minutes, but shot just wide. The Mustangs were kept in the game by the outstanding goalkeeping by Peterson, who had 11 saves including stopping two breakaways in the second half.

Post Match Quotes: Head Coach Chance Fry:
"This was a disappointing game. We had many opportunities to score goals, but weren't able to do so.  Mile High played a good game."
