Match report from the Sounders:

Midfielder Andrew Gregor scored in the final seconds of overtime as the Seattle Sounders defeated the Calgary Storm 1-0 Thursday at Foothills Park in Calgary. Seattle next plays the Vancouver Whitecaps in Vancouver Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Sounders and Whitecaps also meet Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Seahawks Stadium.

Two weeks ago the Storm handed the Sounders their first loss of the season, a 2-1 defeat in Seattle. It remains the only match this season in which the Sounders and goalkeeper Rich Cullen have been scored upon.

Seattle had numerous scoring chances in regulation thwarted, either by Storm goalkeeper David Wiebenga , the crossbar or the post. Late in the first half Sounders forward Kyle Smith was stopped when his shot from eight yards caromed off the crossbar. Smith was denied again early in the second half when his header banged off the right post. Minutes later defender Zach Scott lined a shot that kicked off the underside of the crossbar and out.

As overtime wound down the Storm tried to stall, playing for a tie. Instead, a Sounders thrown-in from the left side deflected out to Gregor who left-footed it passed Wiebenga from 15 yards out with less than 30 seconds remaining.

With the win the Sounders improve their road record to 2-0.
