This unpromoted preseason scrimmage was a freebie for those in the know, and 88 fans turned out, most of them SPU supporters. Sounders trialists started and ended the second half with goals from trialists to net a 2-0 win over the SPU Falcons.

47' Whitfield. Just on for the second half, Brent Whitfield out of Cal State U Fullerton showed great speed when he took a pass near the halfway line and outraced his marker to get a great opportunity from 15 yards on the right, and he finished clinically, putting a low shot past the 'keeper.

90' Fauske (Chacon). The Sounders worked the ball along the 18-yard line for several passes until Costa Rican Franklin Chacon created an opportunity to turn towards goal and dished a short pass to Elliott Fauske, whose accurate shot at the far side deflected slightly off the goalkeeper on the way in.

Andrew Gregor and Whitfield each took nice shots that were rejected by the left post. SPU managed a couple of good shots, but were mostly denied by the Sounders defense in both halves.
