Match report from the Sounders:

The Seattle Sounders Women (2-3-1) recorded their second win of the season on the tail end of a long three game road trip to Colorado. The Women destroyed the Force (1-2-1) defense with a 5-1 victory to end the road trip. Sounders Women were lead my midfielder Chalise Baysa (pictured) who scored three goals in the match.

The Sounders Women came out strong in the first few minutes of the game when Baysa netted her first goal of the match off an assist from Nicole Garbin in the second minute.

The Force answered back in the 22nd minute when Sara Sedgwick scored an unassisted goal for Fort Collins. Sedgwick’s goal would be the only goal of the match for the Force.

In the 35th minute Malia Arrant found the net when she received a through ball from Garbin.

The Sounders Women kept the pressure on and just before the first half ended Garbin with two assists on the night, found the net herself on an assist from Baysa in the 39th minute.

The Women continued to dominate the physical play of the Force as they recorded their fourth goal of the match in the 53rd minute. Baysa recorded her second goal of the match with an assist from midfielder Kelli Smith.

In the 62nd minute Baysa struck again, recording her third goal of the match with an assist from Mary Kuder.

The Seattle Sounders Women’s next match is Friday, June 10th at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. The Women will play host to the Denver Lady Cougars at 7pm.
