Match report from the Sounders:

The Seattle Sounders fell to the Toronto Lynx 4-2 in their third and final match of their road trip east on Sunday in Toronto. First-half goals by CJ Klaas and Cam Weaver helped the Sounders hold even with the Lynx, but two late unanswered goals by Toronto propelled them to victory. Playing three matches in five days, the Sounders have lost three straight and currently sit just points away from one of the six playoff spots in the USL First Division.

The Sounders took a 1-0 lead early in the match on Klaas' second goal of the season. Klaas was set up by defender Stephen Keel, returning to the Sounders on loan from the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer for the three-game trip.

Firing back, Toronto notched back-to-back goals in the 16th and 25th minutes. Scoring for the Lynx were midfielder Kevin Jeffery and forward Matt Palleschi, giving Toronto a 2-1 edge over Seattle midway through the first half.

In the final minute of the first half the Sounders pulled even with the Lynx thanks to Cam Weaver's 15th goal of the season. Midfielder Kevin Sakuda set up the equalizer in the 44th minute earning his first point of the year.

Through the first half the Sounders were outshot 7-3, but scored on two of their three shots.

The Lynx capitalized on two of their 10 second half shots late in the match landing two goals in consecutive minutes. Second half subs Darren Pottinger and Osni Neto scored in the 85th minute and 86th minutes, respectively, helping Toronto capture the 4-2 victory.

The Sounders, who have played six matches over the last two weeks, including three in the last five days, have a week off before playing the final stretch of the 2006 regular season. The Sounders will host five of their last six matches at Qwest Field; their final road match is in Vancouver in September.

The Sounders play their next match on August 11th against the Virginia Beach Mariners at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Wash. at 7pm.

Sounders midfielder CJ Klaas made his first start since returning from a five match suspension on July 22nd.

Weaver's 15th goal of the season puts him three ahead of Miami FC's Romario for the league lead in goals scored.

Palleschi's goal was his third of the season and puts him in a three-way tie for the Toronto team lead.

For the 4th time this season the Sounders have allowed four or more goals.
