Match report from Sounders FC:

On Sunday morning the Sounders FC reserves faced the Gonzaga Bulldogs at Starfire in a training game designed to get playing time for players who did not see action against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night.

The surprise of the day was that Steve Zakuani started on the left wing, making his first appearance against live competition since fracturing his tibia and fibula against the Colorado Rapids on April 22, 2011. The 24-year-old midfielder started and played the first 45 minutes as the Sounders romped to a 4-0 win, but he wasn't the only one returning from injury in the match.

Forward Eddie Johnson, midfielder Cordell Cato and defender Andrew Duran also came back from injuries to face Gonzaga as they prepare for returns to the full lineup.

Midfielder Alex Caskey opened scoring in the first half with a left-footed shot that froze the Gonzaga goalkeeper in the 23rd minute. In the 34th minute, Johnson added to the tally with a goal of his own to make it 2-0.

Seattle added second-half goals from Cato and non-roster guest player Daniel Steres to finish off the scoring in the downpour at Starfire.
