From today's Sounders Select Women news release:
(Seattle, WA) – The Seattle Sounders Select women's team returns for the 2003 W-League season thanks largely to partnerships formed with the Washington State Women's Soccer Association (WSWSA) and Soccer West, a chain of retail soccer shops in the Seattle area.
The WSWSA partnership provides their members with a season pass to six Sounders Select home games played in Seahawks Stadium. Monies from those memberships will go toward the funding of the women's program.
Soccer West will supply uniforms and equipment to the team during the 12-game season. All six home games will be followed by Seattle Sounder men's action.
Dick McCormick, head coach of the 2002 team, returns for his second year with the club. In addition to his coaching duties, McCormick will assume the role of general manager.
"I am very excited about the partnerships with WSWSA and Soccer West," said McCormick. "They allowed us to continue to bring the best women's soccer to the Seattle area. The coaching staff is looking forward to the season, which will start with tryouts in March."
