In a friendly, the Seattle Sounders Select Women beat the Seattle Hibernian Saints 5-1. Originally scheduled as the Puget Sound All-Stars, the visitors apparently consisted of mainly the Saints. The match was the last of the season for the Select, who finished the exhibition season undefeated.

New for the Select was goalkeeper Amy Bemis.

First Half

Each side hit the woodwork early. For the Saints, Mandy Armstrong's 25-yard shot was pushed onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Amy Bemis. For the Select, Joanie Gerpheide put a ball to the left in front of Michelle Badilla, whose 15-yard shot hit the outside of the far post.

21' Gerpheide (Munnis). Brenda Mueller won a misplaced Saints back pass and carried the ball to the bye line left of goal. Mueller crossed to the near post where Janelle Munnis just beat goalkeeper Jen Coffin to the ball and deflected it across the goal mouth. Gerpheide ran in to finish into the open net. Select 1-0.

37' Miyake (PK). Christina Harsaghy was whistled for fouling Katie Miyake as she advanced the ball inside the penalty area. Miyake took the penalty kick and beat goalkeeper Amy Bemis to the lower right corner. 1-1.

43' Trandum (Gerpheide). From the left corner, Gerpheide dropped the ball diagonally for Trandum outside the penalty area to the left of the arc. Trandum put the ball into the top far corner perfectly, the ball glancing off the crossbar on the way in. Select 2-1.

Halftime: Select 2 - 1 Saints

48 Klein (Munnis). Munnis fed Laurie Klein on a run up the middle. Klein continued forward, steering a bit to the left, and shot, beating Coffin to the near side. Seattle 3-1.

63' Badilla (Kimble). Trandum passed square from the arc to the right touch line for Kimble, who fired from the corner of the penalty area. Coffin parried the blast but couldn't hang on to it and Badilla ran in to put the loose ball past Coffin. Seattle 4-1.

76' Klein. Klein pounced on a defensive fumble at the arc, beat a defender with a feint, and blasted a shot into the ceiling of the net. Seattle 5-1.
