Match report based on the Sounders Select Women report:

The Seattle Sounders Select Women defeated the California Storm from Sacramento 3-0 in a friendly played before 1,362 fans at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, WA. This match was a homecoming for Select starting goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen, who attended Mount Si, graduating in 1998. California are the defending champions of the WPSL (Women's Premier Soccer League), which has eight teams in Vancouver, Utah and California.

Seattle got all the scoring they would need in the 43rd minute. Select forward Janelle Munnis took possession of the ball just past the center circle and fed Karen Hardy a pass that sent her in on goal. Storm goalkeeper Maite Zabala came out to cut down the angle. Hardy took an angled shot from ten yards out that beat Zabala to the left side.

Seattle extended the lead to 2-0 when substitute Michele Badilla scored in first half injury time. Tara Bilanski got control of the ball in the Storm end, 35 yards from goal. Bilanski's pass to Badilla created a breakaway opportunity. Badilla dribbled in on goal and was able to shoot and score past Zabala who had come out of net to cut down the angle.

The Select got their third goal on a penalty kick. In the 58th minute, midfielder Badilla was fouled in the penalty area by a Storm defender. Select midfielder Tara Bilanski shot and scored on the resulting penalty kick, beating Zabala to her right.

The Storm's best scoring chance came in the 46th minute. Forward Heather Aldama had a hard shot that was denied because of a great save by Select goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen. Jorgensen made two saves on the afternoon and combined with Sarah Peters, who entered the game in the 80th minute, for the shutout.

The Select are now 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in Northwest Division (provisional W-League) play.
