The Seattle Sounders Select men's team lost to the Spokane Shadow 1-0 in a PDL match played Friday night at Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane, WA. James Gledhill scored the lone goal on a disputed penalty kick call in the 84th minute. Seattle suffered their first loss after losing seven straight PDL games.

Spokane got their goal after a Shadow player was fouled in the Select penalty box, resulting in a penalty kick. Forward James Gladhill stepped up and slotted his shot past the diving Sounders Select goalkeeper Brandon Sewell.

Shadow midfielder Paul Johnson was sent off in the 50th minute after receiving his second yellow card for persistent misconduct. In the match Spokane received three yellow card, to two for Seattle. Spokane outshot Seattle 12-7.

The Sounders Select men remain in second place in the Northwest Division and have already clinched a playoff birth. Seattle split the season series against Spokane 2-2, with both teams winning twice at home.
