Match summary from the Seattle Sounders Select Women:

Tami Bennett scored two goals, leading the Seattle Sounders Select Women to an important 3-0 victory over the Fort Collins Force. Bennett scored in the 12th and 70th minutes, helping the team earn a win that was vital to the Select Women's hopes of making the playoffs. With the victory, Seattle are unbeaten in their last nine matches, going 5-4-0 (W-D-L) in that span, and have moved into second place in the Western Conference with one match remaining in the regular season.

Bennett scored the match-winning goal in the 12th minute, thanks to some nifty footwork and a pass from Rachel Rodrick. Nicole Martinez increased the lead to 2-0 with her goal in the 35th minute from Karen Hardy. Bennett closed out the scored with a freekick blast from 25 yards out in the 70th minute. Select goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen made five saves to earn the shutout.

With one match remaining, the Sounders Select Women must await the outcome of the Texas match (behind Seattle by one point) against Arizona tomorrow. If Texas win or tie, Seattle must either win or tie in their last regular season match at Vancouver next Saturday evening (August 4). Texas trail the Select Women by one point (34 to 33) but have the tiebreaker on the Seattle.

Post Match Quotes: Sounders Select Women's Head Coach Chance Fry:
"In a must win game, we were able to come through. Tami had a couple of great goals. Now we have to play the waiting game and see what happens."
