The Seattle Sounders Select Women persevered hot weather and playing the second match of a back-to-back to defeat the Fort Collins Force 1-0 in Fort Collins, CO. Select Women's forward Tami Bennett scored the lone goal on a penalty kick in the 29th minute.  The 90 degree weather was the hottest that the Select had played in this year.

The goal came after Seattle defender Christina Harsaghy sent a cross into the penalty area for forward Michelle Zentz, who controlled the cross and moved towards the goal. She was then fouled by a Force defender, which resulted in a penalty kick call. Bennett took the penalty kick, scoring to the left of the Force goalkeeper Emily Oleksiuk.

Goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen for Select Women played well, making seven saves to record the shutout. The Force took a defensive position for most of the match and were able to generate only 12 shots to Seattle's 14.
