Match report from the Sounders Women:

The Seattle Sounders Women ended their longest road trip of the season last night with a 0-0 draw versus the Denver Lady Cougars. The Sounders Women finished the road trip with a 3-1-0 (W-D-L) record, and own the W-League's best road record at 4-1-0.

Though there were no goals scored against the Lady Cougars, the Sounders Women continued their aggressive offense, rifling 23 shots in the game. With the tie, the Denver Lady Cougars now move to 2-1-2 and are third in the Western Division.

With the successful road trip the Sounders Women hold first place in the Western Division with a record of 5-2-1, 15 pts, and lead the second place Vancouver Whitecaps Women by six points. The Whitecaps Women have a four game road trip starting on June 21st against the same four opponents the Sounders Women just faced.

Having played four games in six days, the Sounders Women will now have some down time before their next match. "We had as good a road trip as you can have, we look forward too and will take advantage of the few days of rest we’ll get when we get back," said coach Dick McCormick.

The Sounders Women's next game will be June 29th in Vancouver to play the Whitecaps Women. With the post season in view, Coach McCormick believes these next few games will play a role in having a successful postseason. "These will be very important games for us, we have to beat the teams that we will be competing with for one of the two playoff spots."

The Sounders Women are currently tied with two other teams for the second best record in the W-League.
