Match report from the Sounders:

The Seattle Sounders defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 in Sunday's pre-season match before a sold out crowd of over 2,500 in Chilliwack, B.C.

The Sounders connected in the 79th minute on a goal by midfielder Billy Sleeth on the pass from Craig Tomlinson. Tomlinson streaked into the Whitecaps 18-yard box and delivered a feathery pass to Sleeth. A charging Whitecaps keeper couldn't get his hands on Sleeth's shot which was low to the right corner.

It was a chippy match with 5 yellows and 1 red to Seattle, 2 yellows and 2 reds to Vancouver. The Sounders' Marco Velez was sent to the showers late in the first half along with the Whitecaps' Carlo Corazzin and Alfredo Valente.
