Match report from the Sounders:

The Seattle Sounders Women bounced back from a three-game losing streak with a win over the Fort Collins Force 2-1 Monday night at Starfire Sports Complex.

Sounders forwards Chalise Baysa and Nicole Garbin each produced one goal after battling against an aggressive Force defense in the first half.

In the 12th minute, Baysa completed an unassisted goal off a rebound from Malia Arrant's shot from 22 yards out. Arrant's shot struck the top cross bar and ricocheted to the head of Baysa who finished the first goal of the game over Force goalkeeper Katie Forbis.

On an unassisted goal just nine minutes later, Garbin added to the score on a driven shot from the right side of the penalty box giving the Sounders Women a 2-0 lead.

The second half brought excitement as both teams constantly fought for the ball. Force defender Renee Kreft scored the final goal of the game off a free kick 20 yards out from the goal. It came in the 72nd minute to finalize the score at 2-1.

The Seattle Sounders Women will play their last match of 2005 at Qwest Field at 4 PM on Saturday, July 23rd as they take on the San Diego Gauchos. The Women's match is part of the double-header night where the Seattle Sounders Men play host to the Minnesota Thunder at 7 PM.
