Match report from Ron Stickney:

The Seattle Sounders cruised to a 3-0 win in a friendly against Juventus Primavera at Starfire Sports Complex. Primavera are a development squad for the Italian powerhouse.

Sebastien Le Toux opened the account with a pair of first half goals, the first from a penalty kick. Craig Tomlinson added the third goal late in the match.

It was no surprise to see the Sounders match day roster loaded with guest players after the regulars had played 120 minutes in 105 degrees two days earlier. Starting in goal was Romain Salin from French club FC Lorient. A couple of Costa Rican trialists got the start, Michael Rodriguez in the back and Kenny Cunningham up front. The three players from Cambridge United who are here training got minutes, a full 90 for Josh Coulson and part of the second half for Jordan Collins and Robbie Willmott. And local fans got to see a full 90 from Maple Valley's Nik Besagno, on extended loan from Real Salt Lake.

22' SEA: Le Toux (PK). After an uneventful first 20 minutes with just a single shot each way, the Sounders were the beneficiary of a soft call for a penalty kick. Ivan Mignano slid under Kenji Treschuk in the penalty area and got all of the ball, but referee Jeff Hosking must have judged that Mignano got Treschuk first. Le Toux sent the penalty kick left while goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio guessed the wrong way. 1-0 Seattle.

28' SEA: Le Toux (Schmid). After Tomlinson was fouled near the halfway line, Andre Schmid took the free kick quickly and air mailed the ball to the right side of the penalty area for Le Toux. The Juventus defense was caught napping. Le Toux ran past a lone defender to get to the ball first and chipped it deftly over the charging goalkeeper and into the center of the net. 2-0 Seattle.

The 37th minute saw an excellent shot from Juve's Ayub Daud from the top left corner of the area after he was served by Oussama Essabr. The hard, bending shot went just an inch over the bar. That is 25 mm if you are reading this in Italy.

A rapid trio of shots came from Juventus in the 43rd minute. From a corner kick play, Davide Borin's hard shot from the right forced a fine one-handed diving save by Salin, but while he was still down a nice header was fired on goal from 8 yards. Fortunately for Salin, the Sounders defenders had collapsed on the goal and Kenji Treschuk headed the shot off the goal plane. Another header from the same place cleared the bar and the danger was over.

It was the Sounders' turn to pressure the goal opening the second half. Tomlinson broke through into the penalty area at 55' but couldn't get enough mustard on the shot. A minute later the Sounders forced a fine kick save by Pinsoglio, and Schmid's put-back header was deflected just wide.

For Juventus at 66', substitute Giuseppe Giovinco had a chance from 18 yards with Salin drawn off his line, but the shot missed the post by a yard.

For Seattle at 75', Rodriguez was up to get his head on a free kick for an 8-yard shot, but Pinsoglio made the save. Then Cunningham fired a nice shot from the top of the arc that produced an equally fine save as Pinsoglio flew sideways.

86' SEA: Tomlinson (Cunningham). From the right, guest substitute Mike Morris sent a diagonal pass towards the far post. Cunningham beat the goalkeeper to it but could only get a little touch on it. The ball carried through for Tomlinson on a speedy far-post run, and he slotted it home to close the account. 3-0 Seattle.
