Match report from the Sounders FC blog

The Sounders FC reserves topped Seattle U 4-1 this afternoon, getting goals from Roger Levesque, Jarrod Smith (twice), and Kevin Forrest in the win. Levesque scored in the 27th minute, volleying in a cross for the only goal of the first half. Then the game took off in the second half. Smith took on a defender one-on-one on the left side before popping in his first goal in the 51st minute. He followed that up with a header off of a cross from Kevin Forrest in the 57th minute. Forrest added a goal in the 63rd minute with a strong effort from the right post. (Ed: The Sounders FC report credited the fourth goal to Levesque, but the Times and News Tribune blogs gave it to Forrest, so we'll let the majority rule.) Seattle U scored their only goal of the game in 78th minute.

Fredy Montero saw some action in the reserve game after already training with the starters to get a little extra game-action in this week. He will miss the next league game on Sunday after a red card ejection in Seattle's 1-1 draw with the Chicago Fire last Saturday.

Patrick Ianni looked good in the holding midfield role for the second straight time. He also played their against Real Salt Lake in the US Open Cup play-in game last week and did not look out of place after coming to the Sounders as a defender.
