Match report based on the Sounders' report:

The Seattle Sounders were defeated by the San Diego Flash, 1-0, before 4,426 at Renton Memorial Stadium. Defensive midfielder Jerome Watson scored the match-winning goal in the 11th minute, assisted by Carlos Farias. The loss eliminates the Sounders from the playoffs. The Sounders' best scoring chance came in the 84th minute when Mark Baena had a shot go wide left, from a pass by Ian Russell. Sounders were forced to play a man short after defender Jason Annicchero was given a red card for a tackle in the 82nd minute. San Diego goalkeeper Kevin Rueda made three saves to record the shutout.

The Flash have won the last 6 meetings, 4 in 1999 over Seattle. San Diego outscored Seattle 12-0 this year. San Diego advance to the Western Conference Finals against Minnesota in a best of three series.

First Half

11' - The Flash gained possession of the ball in the Seattle end. Farias controlled on the right side at the top of the penalty area. Farias passed to Watson, who had pushed up from his defensive midfield position. Watson, with no Sounders guarding him, dribbled into the penalty area. Burpo came out of net to cut the angle down. Watson chipped the ball over Burpo's head into the left corner of the net for a goal. SEA 0-1 SD.

Halftime: Seattle 0 - 1 San Diego

61' - San Diego's Legg controlled the ball in the penalty area.  Legg turned to shoot at the penalty spot, but his shot was blocked by
Barton and cleared away.

61' - Seattle's Barton shot low from 30 yards out, Rueda made the save.

73' - Seattle's Nouri crossed into the penalty box area for Russell. Russell headed the ball wide left of the goal.

79' - Seattle's Baena shot from outside the penalty area, Rueda made the save.

80' - Seattle's Nguyen slotted ball into the penalty area for Henderson. Henderson's hard shot was saved by Rueda.

82' - Seattle's Annicchero was sent off for a hard, two-footed tackle from behind. From the resulting free kick, Farias shot the ball
just high over the goal.

84' - Seattle's Russell centered the ball for Baena. Baena, from 10 yards out, shot just wide left of the goal.
