New York
Clancy's, 52nd and 2nd
(1 block east of the British Consulate). 212.755.8383.
Shows the Setanta package, as well as the occasional mid-week
fixtures (such as England v. France, Euro Champions League) and
Fox Soccer Net (the noontime delayed match on Saturday). Also a
great place for families, as they enforce a "No loud
profanity" rule. Definitely a well-run, clean place, more in
line with modern creature comforts (serve good food!). If you
seek a terrace atmosphere, this is NOT it! Instead, it is
populated by upscale, cosmopolitan fans from all places who can
enjoy the best sport on God's green earth in an enthusiastic,
energetic, but never rowdy type of place. Have run into Chelsea,
Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Wimbledon and Spurs supporters, some
just arrived in New York.

weekends. They have taps of dozens of world class beers and the

Eugene McElroy writes, "This Spanish/Portuguese restaurant features top games from South America. I saw many of the South American qualifiers for the 1998 World Cup and many Copa Libertadores games here. They have shown this year's Libertadores and they will show the Copa America this summer. They have been showing club games from Colombia and Peru on the odd weekend. Big screens, good reception, plenty of seating available, bar available in the back. Lively atmosphere (especially when Colombian or Ecuadorian teams plays), but never a bother. Located right off of Rt. 287 (exit 13). Call in advance for games and times."
