Match report from the Seattle Sounders:

Rampage forward Digital Takawira scored the match-winning goal and added an assist as Milwaukee defeated the Seattle Sounders in Milwaukee, WI. Seattle were seemingly sluggish throughout the match, possible affected by the 96-degree temperature at kickoff.

Takawira scored the match-winning goal in the 51st minute. In the Sounders end of the field, midfielder Igor Soso passed to midfielder David Hayes who was in space just outside the penalty area. Hayes sent a pass inside the penalty area to Takawira on the move on the right side of the box. Takawira made one move and took a low hard shot that beat the Sounders goalkeeper Preston Burpo.

Milwaukee increased their lead to 2-0 when forward Steve Butcher scored in the 63rd minute on a pass from Takawira. The Rampage finished their scoring on an own goal off the body of Sounders defender Ryan Edwards in the 68th minute.

Milwaukee goalkeeper Henry Ring only had to make two saves on six Sounders shots to record the shutout. Seattle were without the services of midfielder and leading scorer Leighton O'Brien, who was suspended for this match because of a red card he received in the last match in Milwaukee on June 30. Forward Dylin Pillay made his debut for Seattle by starting and playing the first 34 minutes of the game before coming off for Craig Tomlinson.

With the victory, Milwaukee move past Seattle and into second place in the Western Conference, two points behind conference leading Vancouver. The Sounders have lost two of their last three matches.
