Feb 2 - SuperSearch aftermath:
Feb 1 - The Sounders SuperSearch final show aired today, broadcast live from the Starfire indoor pitches. The ten finalists were introduced, then the field was narrowed to four: Dallas Jaussi (by fan vote), Chase Mikkelsen, Vini Oliveira, and Junior Garcia. After some Jaussi and Oliveira vs. Mikkelsen and Garcia action, the judges (Adrian Hanauer, Sigi Schmid, and Chris Henderson) narrowed it down to Oliveira and Garcia. It was a treat to see the pair play 1 v 1, as both have the moves to take people on. The judges chose Brazilian-born Oliveira as the winner, no doubt partly due to his play in the 11 v 11 match the previous day. At 20 years old, Oliveira was the youngest of the ten finalists.
