Riley and Wahl, both picked up by Seattle in their expansion draft three years ago, had plenty of good matches while helping Seattle to a successful first three years. They will both be missed.

Jun 2 - Thursday's stories:
Jun 1 - Rumor of the day is Marcus Hahnemann's possible return. From the PI: Is Hahnemann still a candidate to replace Keller? The Daily Mail reports that Hahnemann has been offered an MLS contract to play for the Sounders, but be skeptical unless and until it is reported by another, independent, believable source. With Seattle 7th on the allocation list and Hahnemann in the national team pool, Seattle would probably have to trade up to get the MLS rights to the ex-Sounder who was featured in the mother of all MLS tifo displays. Late in the day: Hanauer statement on the Marcus Hahnemann rumors.

Apr 24 - The focus on Steve Zakuani continues:
Apr 23 - Steve Zakuani is on everyone's minds:
Apr 22 - Colorado Rapids 0 - 1 Seattle Sounders FC (Montero 19). This match provided major good news and major bad news. The bad news is that in the third minute, Colorado's Brian Mullan retaliated hot-headedly against the nearest opponent after he felt he was fouled (it was trifling, not worth a whistle), and his cleats-first slide into Steve Zakuani's planted right leg broke both leg bones, probably at least a season ending injury for Zakuani. The good news is that Fredy Montero's lone goal gave the Sounders their first road win of the season. The bad news greatly outweighs the good. We (and certainly countless other soccer fans) wish Zakuani a full recovery in due time.
