Match report by Ron Stickney:

In their final match of the regular season, the Seattle Sounders Women comfortably defeated the Mile High Mustangs 4-0 at Qwest Field. The match was played on grass left over from the previous day's Brits friendly. Goals went to Tina Frimpong, Alicia Milyak, and Erin Redwine twice. Meghan Miller notched her 11th shutout of the season.

First Half

Mile High's Katie Quinn earned the first shot of the match when her diagonal run into the penalty area with the ball gave her a shot, but Dana Kimble stuck out her foot to deflect it wide.

Then Seattle took control. The first shot came in the 5th minute when Brenda Mueller dished it wide for Rachel Rodrick, who shot well wide of the top far corner. In the 17th, Frimpong's cross was dummied by Mueller for a 15-yard blast by Nikki Gamble, but goalkeeper Laura Janke blocked it and was first to the rebound. Katie Miyake hit the crossbar squarely from the middle of the 18-yard line on a set play. Frimpong's turn-and-shoot from 17 went to Janke's arms. Chalise Baysa headed just over the bar from 15. In the 31st, Mueller fed Gamble in the area for a shot, right to Janke. Frimpong's sideways volley was a yard wide.

35' Frimpong (French). Finally the Sounders found the net. From an offside free kick play, Michelle French beat a pair and sent a long diagonal cross over the offside line. Frimpong beat Janke to it and sent the first touch low past Janke and into the empty net. 1-0 Seattle.

Mile High's second shot came in the 44th when Quinn was yards high from 35.

Just before the whistle, Gamble's 15-yarder from the right settled on the roof.

Halftime: Seattle 1 - 0 Mile High

Seattle continued the attack in the second half. Frimpong was just wide with a low shot from 30 yards. Gamble's hard shot from 10 yards on the left was well saved by Janke and the rebound was cleared. Frimpong forced a save from 20, Gamble hit the roof, and Kimble's 20-yarder was saved at the top near corner.

64' Milyak. Milyak had just entered and was served a long diagonal cross from the right. Milyak, Janke and a defender converged on the ball and Milyak got to it first, her shot deflecting off the nearby defender towards the goal. It was Milyak's first touch on the ball. Another defender couldn't quite reach the goal line in time to clear the ball. 2-0 Seattle.

Mile High had a couple of chances in the 73rd minute. Quinn headed at the top far corner from 15 yards, and Miller pushed it wide and fell on the ball on the end line wide of goal. A corner kick was given, taken by Katie Antongiovanni, and Miller had to leap to save it at the top near corner.

87' Redwine (French). Redwine had entered in the 77th as Frimpong limped off with a sore leg. Redwine got her first of two goals when she volleyed in French's corner kick. 3-0 Seattle.

90' Redwine (Milyak). Milyak carried up the left touch line, crossed from near the corner, and Redwine was open running up the middle to head it past Janke from 8 yards.
