Dec 10 - Latest team news:

Nov 4 - Goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann and forward Jason Farrell of the two time A-League champion Seattle Sounders are leaving for Japan this week for a 10-day series of tryouts with pro soccer clubs in Japan's first division.

Oct 15 - Coach/Sweeper Neil Megson just had successful surgery on his knee to repair the injury that knocked him off the field for the last two months of the season. His recovery time is estimated at about two months.

Oct 10 - As the match report indicated, Rochester goalkeeper Bill Andracki was badly hurt during the championship match. This is the latest on his condition, courtesy of Rhinos fan Mark Pallo: "They brought him back early this morn to a plastic surgeon and needed 76 stitches. Lost 2 teeth and is a wreck emotionally. He will probably be scarred for life. They showed him getting off the plane today on the news with a hat over his face."

A heart felt "GET WELL SOON!" to Bill Andracki from the Sounders Supporters club and Seattle Pitch. We love the sport, and will continue to razz you when you're between the pipes, but we do realize many things in life are much more important.

Oct 6 - A-League Championship Match: Seattle 2 - 0 Rochester : Leonetti 72', 84'

Sep 19 - A Sad Day for North American Footie :-(

Sep 3 - Hershey, PA joins A-League.

Aug 21 - Sounder's player-coach Neil Megson will be out of action 3-6 weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, the team announced yesterday. Megson, 34, injured the knee in the second half of Saturday's 2-0 win over the Montreal Impact. "I planted left and twisted right, and that's not a good thing for a knee that has stood up to an 18-year professional career," Megson said. "But I'm lookin' to return for the playoffs."

Aug 17 - Brazilian Sidney Zanin has been released. This follows the recent release of Greg Veatch.

Aug 18 - Veteran Sounders midfielder David Hoggan was re-signed today for the remainder of the season. The 35 year-old sturdy midfielder looks to add strength and experience to the goal-struggling Sounders.

Aug 7 - Tonight's Atlanta v. Seattle match has been postponed pending as the league is looking for new ownership for Atlanta.

Jul 17 - Today the Sounders signed 28 year old midfielder Greg Veatch, from the CISL Arizona Sandsharks.

Jul 17 - Official reports on the A-League/USISL merger.

Jul 11 - More on the league merger.

Jun 25 - Forward Niall Thompson has been traded from the Montreal Impact to the Seattle Sounders. Thompson played recently for the Canadian U-23 team as Canada nearly qualified for the men's soccer event in this summer's Olympics.

Jun 14 - Details on Chance Fry's broken leg.

Mar 27 - The Sounders' Pacific Rim Tour has been abbreviated due to the complications between China and Taiwan. The April 6 match versus Shanghai, China has been postponed indefinitely but the April 10 match against Vissel Kobe, Japan is still set.

Mar 6 - The Sounders second string keeper Dusty Hudock has been picked up from waivers by the Colorado Rapids (MLS).

Mar 3 - Neil Megson has officially been named the new head coach of the Sounders.

Feb 20 - The A-League will stop the clock for 30 seconds after goals are scored this season. This break will reportedly allow for post-goal celebration and a commercial TV break. The A-League also plan to use the same points system as Major League Soccer - three for a regulation win, one for a shootout win. This is a good thing. Let's minimize the differences between the leagues and the resulting fan confusion. The league will also retain the 15-yard wall on free kicks and the dreaded shootout.

Feb 13 - Jesus Bautista replaced Pat Henderson as coach of the Everett BigFoot.

Jan 24 - Dominic Kinnear has been allocated to the MLS Colorado Rapids.

Jan 24 - More on Hinton's "Retirement".

Jan 22 - Alan Hinton Retires.

1995

Nov 28 - Hahnemann left for England a week ago with coach Alan Hinton and assistant coach Gary Heale. He is presently working out with Sheffield Wednesday and is expected to try out with Everton and Southampton. Newcastle and Arsenal have also expressed interested in his golden gloves. Hinton said the Sounders would only consider a six-figure transfer fee from a potential English club.

Chewy would be a great lose for the Sounders, but we all wish him well in his efforts. If he can play in the Premiership, we have no right trying to hold him back. Marcus has a dual American/German citizenship so is capable of playing in the UK without the work permit problems that plague other Americans in England.

Nov 19 - The Sounders downed Vissel Kobe 3 - 2 at Memorial stadium in what was a truly entertaining friendly. Goals came in high numbers as did Sounders substitutions. We got to see alot of the Sounders' bench. One very surprising performance came in the form of a blazing 40 yard rocket of a goal from heretofore unknown #22 Kieran Barton who came in at right full back. Though possibly the biggest surprise of the night was found in the center full back position. None other than our arch-nemesis: John Doyle!

Nov 18 - Hattrup, Medved to Join MLS: Peter Hattrup and Shawn Medved (starting midfielders) will play their last game in Sounder uniforms tomorrow when they take on Vissel Kobe of Japan in the Kobe Relief Fund Soccer Match at Memorial Stadium at 3pm. Hattrup and Medved are expected to join Major League Soccer (MLS) in the spring.

Oct 18 - What does the future hold for the Sounders?

Oct 9 - Sounders' defender Wade Webber underwent surgery to repair an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which was injured when he twisted his knee after kicking the ball during a semifinal match against the Vancouver 86ers.

Aug 10 - The Sounders have just signed Necaxa (MEX 1st) player Dominic Kinnear. He will be a midfielder and hopefully will fill in that massive hole vacated by the injured Dick McCormick. Kinnear also has 56 caps and 9 goals with the National squad. That makes 3 Sounders on the National team!

Jul 27 - The Sounders re-signed Peter Hattrup for the rest of the season.

Jun 5 - Money Problems in Seattle.

1994

Alan Hinton was named APSL Coach of the Year: Mr. Soccer Englishman Earns Title of Seattle Nobility.

Forward Jason Dunn and goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann have been invited to play on the United States National Team in two soccer matches in Trinidad and Jamaica.

Jason Dunn was named 1994 APSL Rookie of the Year.

Mar 22 - The Sounders may be the first American Soccer team to ever play in Japan. An anonymous source says that the Sounders head office are working out the details. The game(s) would offer the Sounders a excellent chance to compete at the international level. True to Sounders form, the format will evidently be a "Kobe Relief," charity kind of thing. The competition will be one or more J-League teams. A goal will also be to stage one or more reciprocal games in Seattle.

Mar 10 - A leaking, chipping roof has forced closure of the Memorial Stadium grandstands, and the repair bill may be as high as $1.3 million.
